The first step to making a vacation binder is to gather the materials. You will need the following items:
- View Binder – I suggest a 1/2″ to 1″ binder. You don’t want it do be too big since you are going to bring it with you. A 1/2″ binder will hold about 120 sheets and a 1″ binder will hold about 220 sheets. A view binder allows you to insert a cover sheet into the front. I also recommend a binder that has pockets in the front and back.
- Sheet Protectors – These help keep your papers from tearing and getting stained. I recommend a standard weight or a heavy weight sheet protector. The lightweight ones are a little too flimsy.
- Write on Tab Dividers – These tab dividers are easy to use. Get the 8 tab set in white or in colors.
- Binder Pocket for 3 Ring Binder – You can use this to hold various receipts and small items.
- Paper (lined or unlined) for binder – Use this for notes, etc.
- Pens, Pencils, Highlighters
Optional items that you might need: Post it Notes, small notebook or journal
The next thing you need it is a pretty cover for your binder. I have made three and they are free for you to download!
